Catch the wave of profitability
Merchants are now able to take advantage of increased speed and ticket size with Visa payWave—the latest evolution in Visa payment.
Visa payWave uses the latest technology to securely send cardholder account data via radio frequency to a terminal reader. Cardholders simply wave their card with Visa payWave in front of the secure reader, instead of swiping. For many transactions, they won't need to sign a receipt or even hand their card to you or your employees.
Your customers aren't the only ones who'll benefit from Visa payWave. Merchants benefit as well, because Visa payWave transactions that are under $25 do not require a signature, thereby preventing customers from fumbling for cash. This can also increase checkout speed while reducing lines—both in-store and at drive-through windows. In addition, Visa payWave transactions have also been shown to increase the average ticket size for some merchants over cash purchases.

How it works
A special chip embedded in the Visa card, Visa Mini Card with Visa payWave, or Visa Micro Tag transmits the cardholder's account data to the terminal reader by radio frequency. The cardholder's account is charged, and the purchase is processed in the same manner as a swiped transaction.
